MAUMEE, OHIO (May 30, 2007) ― Therma-Tru Doors showcases the largest product introduction in its history at the 2007 Pacific Coast Builders’ Conference (PCBC), offering a complete portfolio of fiberglass entry and patio door solutions, innovations and technologies designed to open new doors and build business for the nation’s homebuilders and remodelers.

On display in booth #1016 are many exciting product offerings including: the Tru-Defense™ line — the next generation of high performance entry and patio door systems; beautiful and consistent door finishes created with FinishRight™ Technology; decorative glass designs for achieving dramatic entryways; elegant 8’0’’ door styles to meet the trend for higher ceilings and entryways; and the Pro-Edge™ line of steel doors featuring an adjustable hinge and high-definition styling. In addition, booth visitors will have an opportunity to hear from building industry experts. The Carey Brothers, hosts of the “On the House” home improvement radio show, will give presentations on the Tru-Defense patio door system featuring solutions for harsh weather conditions using Therma-Tru’s exclusive “rain chamber.”

“Therma-Tru has long been known as an industry innovator, and we’re proud to showcase this comprehensive array of beautiful, high performance new products, all of them made with the advanced technologies and superior engineering that today’s builders and remodelers require to meet the demands of homeowners,” says Hal Gardner, vice president of marketing, Therma-Tru Doors.

Protection From Harsh Weather Conditions
Builders and remodelers can offer their customers protection from damaging weather and harsh conditions with the new Tru-Defense line of entry and patio doors. Tru-Defense is the new standard in high performance doors, components and certified systems, designed to work together to protect homes from severe weather. Therma-Tru’s Tru-Defense entry and patio door systems have an air, water and structural performance rating of DP-40 or higher. The doors are independently tested, and certified by the National Accreditation and Management Institute (NAMI).

The Carey Brothers will be presenting the Tru-Defense System in the Therma-Tru booth (#1016) throughout the show. Therma-Tru has created a custom rain chamber that will show how Tru-Defense stands up to steady rain without the threat of water infiltration.

Impact Rated For Beauty and Strength
Therma-Tru is launching its new Tru-Defense Lip-Lite Impact Rated Glass and Opaque Impact Rated Doors, proving that homeowners don’t have to choose between beauty and strength. The Tru-Defense Lip-Lite Impact Rated Glass has a frame that is aesthetically pleasing and beautifully designed for Therma-Tru’s 6’8” and 8’0” Fiber-Classic®, Smooth-Star® and Steel door lines. The impact rated glass doors protect against severe storm damage, including heavy rain and flying debris. Additionally, Therma-Tru is pleased to introduce its line of Opaque Impact Rated Doors ideal for coastal areas that face tropical storms and hurricanes. The doors have the highest structural ratings, and designs including a steel plate underneath the skin for added strength and rigidity against hurricane force winds.

Flexibility for Inflexible Replacement Projects
Therma-Tru is offering new options within its Classic-Craft® Collection specifically designed for replacement and remodeling projects. Therma-Tru’s Classic-Craft Mahogany Collection™ door styles can now be ordered with 10’’ sidelites so homeowners can replace their 5’0’’ double entry doors with a 3’0’’ single door and decorative sidelites. The Mahogany Collection door styles, along with the entire Classic-Craft Collection, can be trimmed up to 1-1/4’’ on the top and the bottom of the door without the need to re-rail the door. The added trimmability gives more flexibility for difficult or settled openings.

Consistent Door Finishes That Keep Builders Profitable
Therma-Tru’s new FinishRight™ technology, now available nationwide, sets an industry standard for beautiful, consistent door finishes. The technology meets the need for a factory-finished door system that is ready to install without having to wait for hand-applied stains to dry. FinishRight allows builders to complete projects more quickly while reducing callbacks in the field. The durable finish endures harsh weather elements and looks like new for years with no peeling, chalking or fading. And with a five year finish warranty, homeowners will enjoy the warmth of wood with very little maintenance. Five stain colors are offered for many of Therma-Tru’s most popular styles of Classic-Craft and Fiber-Classic door systems.

Decorative Glass Designs for Curb Appeal
The trend of using decorative glass to create dramatic entryways with great curb appeal continues to grow. To meet this trend, Therma-Tru introduces five new decorative glass designs including Camino™, Augustine™ and Bella™ for its Classic-Craft product lines, and Blackstone™ and Salinas™ for the Fiber-Classic, Smooth-Star and steel door lines. What’s more, Therma-Tru has extended its popular Sedona and Wellesley™ decorative glass options to include its Fiber-Classic door line.

The up and down adjustment of 5/16” in either direction (5/8” total) allows for an ideal fit between the door bottom and sill. The in-and-out adjustment of 1/8” in either direction (1/4” total) allows for ideal closing, latching, and sealing between the door, weatherstrip and frame keeper for maximum performance.
